 Language Arts and World History  Team 7B

   Welcome to Team 7B.  My 7th grade Language Arts curriculum will include basic grammar review focusing on identifying parts of speech, basic sentence structure, writing instruction including further development of the 5 paragraph essay, weekly reading, monthly literature responses, a narrative poetry unit with an emphasis on ballads and the use of literary devices in poetry (as well as its possibilities for narrative writing)a novel unit and a drama unit.

Our 7th grade Social Stuidies curriculum will begin with a basic geography unit before we begin our study of four ancient river civilizations, Ancient Greece and Rome, the Middle Ages and European and Japanese Feudal Systems and ending with the Age of Exploration and the Renaissance.

Language Arts and World History second semester grades close at the end of April.  On May 1st the seventh grade begins its Washington State History integrated unit.  A final grade for Washington State History will be a combination of  Language Arts, Social Studies and some science assignments.
