I received my BS in Child Development from The University
of California, Davis many years ago.
After a year of work and travel I moved north to Seattle
and the University of Washington for my master’s degree in clinical social
work.
After a delightful period of teaching preschool children
on Bainbridge Island, I returned to UW for my elementary teaching credential.
I traveled again, this time living for a year in Merida,
Mexico, where I had the opportunity to tutor high school students and volunteer
in a private elementary school.
When we returned to the island I was pleased to be hired
to teach at Wilkes, my neighborhood school. This is my 15th year here.
