Welcome to the Sakai Art Program web site.
The Sakai Art curriculum is designed to promote artistic development in fifth and sixth grade students. We have an exciting program this year, and a raft of creative students that will accomplish great things. I look forward to working with all Sakai students in the art program. Most of the links will open in a new pop-up window, so you never lose track of this home page. Please click on the grade and color to see your child's curriculum map with dates:
***Please follow The Program link to read about what students will accomplish at Sakai this year. ***You can see what the art room at Sakai looks like by following the VR tour link. ***Catch a glimpse of students working in the art room by following the link to This Month, and also see a list of items we'd love to have donated to the program. ***As interactive and informative Internet sites are discovered, they will be posted on the Kid Stuff page. Follow that link to find some fun games and activities that also teach art skills and facts. ***Parents will find sites and information of interest on the Parent Stuff page. As summer approaches, art camps and opportunities will be posted as well. ***We do many special projects that involve technology in some way, and those web quests and web pages can be viewed by visiting the Special Stuff link. ***If you follow the About MJ link, you'll find information about MJ, the Sakai Art Secialist. MJ is a working artist as well as an art teacher, and you can see samples of her books and prints, as well as a vita. ***Clicking on the Sakai Home link will return you to the main Sakai web page. ***MJ recieved a Master's Degree in Curriculum and Instruction with an emphasis in Technology in Education through Lesley University. The Lesley U link lets parents and other educators see curricula that promote the integration of technology into the art program. |
