The Book Arts Writing Group began in the summer of 2001. Maureen Wilson and MJ Linford gathered together 10 young women from 5th through 8th grade who we had taught and who had excellent writing and art-making skills. Our goals were:
- to provide a mentoring program that would encourage their writing and art skills, through the form of the book
- to foster a spirit of companionship and support between members
- to develop new skills and technques in both writing and bookmaking.
Our next meeting of the Book Arts/Writing Mentoring Group will be:
Wednesday, November 28, from 6:30 until 8:30.
We will be making the covers and sides for our Fall theme tunnel book. You should come with all of your pages already completed, please.
If you need extra work time to complete your pages, please come to the Sakai Art Room on Monday, Tuesday or Wednesday of that week for some work time. MJ will be here from 2:30 on so you can work with the stamps and other materials you need.
