Information
- Shifting tenses,
past to present or present to past: Stay in "past" tense (She was
falling) or "present" tense (She is falling). Don't switch back
and forth!
- Shifting person,
third to first or first to third: Stay in "third" person (He fell) or
"first person" (I fell). Again, don't switch back and forth!
- Contractions:
no contractions (They're) except in dialogue.
- Small numbers:
write out small numbers (1-10).
- Parentheses:
don't use parentheses ( ). Use commas instead.
- Dialogue: when
writing dialogue, start a new paragraph each time a new person starts to
speak.
