Counseling at Sakai

Groups Conflict Mediation Student Support Center Resources
Sakai's  counselors are available to work with students, staff and parents on any issue or concern that may  affect a student’s ability to focus on schoolwork. Our goal is to support all students of all abilities as they strive to achieve social, emotional and academic success. We want Sakai students to feel safe, encouraged, and cared for.

We  work with students individually to provide emotional support and/or guidance.

We offer small groups during the school year for students who experience similar concerns, such as family change, grief or loss, coping with anger and frustration, or drug/alcohol issues. Participation in these groups is based on expressed interest and requires parent permission. We also work individually with students, staff and parents to problem solve school concerns such as adjusting to transitions, or coping with challenging social or emotional situations.

We do classroom presentations on bullying and harassment and coordinate school-wide activities such as "No Name Calling Week", new student orientation,

We work with families to help them understand the unique academic, social and emotional needs of their child.

We are available by phone or e-mail - please feel free to contact us at any time..
