Parent and community involvement is encouraged and valued at Ordway Elementary. Parents serve as members of the Site Council, as officers and/or members of the PTO, and on the district's Multicultural Advisory Council and other district committees. Many people volunteer on a regular basis to help in all classrooms and school programs.
Partnerships have become a vital part of the program at Ordway. We have formal partnerships agreements with the Island Grill Restaurant, the Pizza Factory, Washington Mutual Savings Bank, Bainbridge High School, and Woodward Middle School. All of our partnerships are designed to support the learning and promote positive relationships with the community. In the future, we also hope to expand our use of community-school partnerships.
