| 2007-08 will be my seventeenth
year in education and my first year as the Athletic Director at Bainbridge
High School. My first four years in education were spent at Northshore
Jr. High teaching 8th and 9th grade health which I really enjoyed. In
1993, an opportunity to be the first Athletic Director at a new private
Christian high school came across my path so I spent three years at
Cedar Park building the foundation for that athletic program. The Bear
Creek School offered me an opportunity to repeat the experience of starting
a high school athletic program so between 1998-2003, another foundation
for 6-12 grade athletics was established. As my oldest child entered
high school, her desire to transition from private school to public
school aligned perfectly with my professional opportunity to become
the athletic director at Redmond High School.

After four years at Redmond,
the athletic director opportunity at Bainbridge became available which
would fulfill the long time dream of working in a one high school public
school district on an island. My children continue to be educated in
the Lake Washington School District. My son, who is the middle child,
graduates from Redmond in June 2008 and my youngest daughter is currently
an 8th grader at Redmond Jr. High. My oldest child graduated from Redmond
in 2006 and is pursuing an Elementary Education major at WSU.
In addition to the years in education and while raising my three children,
I was fortunate to have acquired 20 years of high school coaching experience,
primarily in the KingCo league in both soccer and basketball. In my
free time I enjoy working out, decorating and modernizing homes. Just
recently, I adopted a year old black lab from a shelter in Camano Island
who keeps me company while I split my time between a residence in Bainbridge
Island and another one in Redmond. I feel fortunate to be chosen to
represent athletics at Bainbridge Island, work alongside of talented,
passionate coaches and advocate for the student-athletes in this terrific
school. |
