STUDENTS

1.         Beginning TODAY, all parking at the high school is restricted to permit parking ONLY.  If you don’t have a permit you may not park in the Pit, the Pool, the Mormon Church (LDL) or the Christian Science (white) Church.  If you park in these lots without a permit you will get a ticket.  Parking permits are still available if you want to purchase one.  Please see Stacy Stevens-Lacy in the office for a form.  The Baptist Church parking lot is still available (across from the fire station) for arena parking.

2.         Part-tiime Jobs and Volunteer opportunities.  See Mr. Anderson in room 104.

3.         The Natural Landscapes Project has an opportunity for 2 young people to get an hour of community service this coming Saturday at Eagle Harbor Congregational Church Fellowship Hall, 3:00-4:00pm.  Contact Bobbie Morgan, 842-5955 if interested.  Help needed to set up chairs and tables in preparation for a vegetable tasting and conversation, following a vegetable garden tour.  Thank you!  Sponsored by the Natural Landscapes Project, Sustainable Bainbridge and Bainbridge Island Watershed Council.

4.         Attention Students!  Earn your community service hours early!  Bainbridge Youth Services needs your help with an upcoming program.  You can work all of these dates or just one.  Please stop by the BYS office for more information or to sign up.  You can also email Michele at  jobs@bainbridgeyouthservices.org or call 206-842-9675.  Dates and times we need help:  October 9th from 5:30pm-7pm, October 16th from 5:30pm-7pm, October 23rd from 5:30pm-7pm ,
October 30th from 5:30pm-7pm, November 6th from 5:30pm-7pm, November 13th from 5:30pm-7pm.

5.         The ASVAB Aptitude test and Career Exploration program will be administered Friday, October 26, from 8:45 am to approximately noon.  Sign up in the main office or see Mr. Anderson in Room 104.

6.         Attention Sophomores and Juniors:  Save the Date!  The PSAT/PLAN exams will be held at BHS on Saturday, Oct. 20th @ 8:00 am.  Sign ups for these exams will begin October 1st and run through October 11th.  Sign up and pay with Sarah Spray in the main office.  Make check payable to BHS for $17 and indicate which exam you will take on your check.  The PSAT is designed for juniors and the PLAN is designed for sophomores.  If you are a sophomore who has completed Geometry, you can choose to take either the PLAN or the PSAT.  The week of October 8th, counselors will be visiting your English classes to discuss which exam is appropriate for you.  See your counselor if you have questions.

7.          ATTENTION ALL SENIORS & JUNIORS:  Upcoming college visits:  Fri , 9/28 ,   2:00 PM, Columbia University (NYC) at BHS; 1:00 PM,            Rocky Mountain College.

 

MEETINGS

1.         College Visits:  Today:  1:00pm, Willamette University (OR);  2:00pm, Pitzer College (CA).

 

SPORTS
1.         Just a reminder – girls lacrosse captain’s practice every Thursday after school until 4:15p.  Everyone’s welcome.  Any questions, ask Lucy Schlesser, Rachel Harman or Natalie Evans.

2.         Girls HS gymnastics class starts Tuesday, Oct 2nd.  Sign up with the Park District.

3.         HOME TODAY:  football vs. Eastside Catholic, 7:00pm.
