1. The annual staff needs your Summer Photos for the yearbook. Please turn all photos into the Summer Photo box in the office. Attention seniors: we need your Looking Back photos. Turn into the Looking Back box in the office. All photos due no later than October 1st. Thanks!
1.Student Drivers: you are not allowed to park in staff, visitors or non designated student parking areas. Starting today and here on after, you will be ticketed for non compliance. Non student areas include: Masonic Lodge, gravel/grandstand, on the grass on the hill in the pit, over in visitor parking by the pool, district parking. Remember, faculty parking is until 4:30pm.
2. REMINDER TO STUDENT DRIVERS: the staff at Ordway Elementary have assigned parking spots at the Mormon Church (LDS Church). They use spots #101-121. Please do not park there at any time. ALSO: Please note, BHS staff parking is reserved from 6:00AM to 4:00 PM.
3. SKATEBOARDING: not allowed on campus before, during or after school. It is not allowed at any time – even weekends!
4. Student parking permit paper work begins this week at break and at
both lunches in the lower gym cafeteria. Please see Stacy Lacy and she
will give you the necessary forms to fill out, have signed, turn in -- so you
can park in the lower pit. The requirements are SENIORS ONLY at this time
with at least three (3) people in the car pool; one of the other car pool
participants must be a licensed driver. These individuals will have the
best parking spaces available to them in the pit between the lower gym and the
math wing. If you have questions see Mr. Fritts, Mr. Jones or Ms. Lacy.
5. Auditions
for the BHS fall play, ARSENIC AND OLD LACE, will be this Wed. and Thursday
from 2:50 to 4:30pm in the theater.
Sign up for an audition time in the library with Ms. Baker. The auditions will be a "COLD
READING" -- don't worry about having anything memorized! Please bring a photo of yourself with
you. No experience required.
6. ATTENTION ALL SENIORS & JUNIORS: College admissions counselors
have been making plans to visit you here at Bainbridge High School and in the
Seattle area. The list is not quite
ready for prime-time, but as soon as it is ready, you will find it on the front
page of the BHS main website (hopefully by the end of the day on this
Friday). It will also be posted right
outside the Counseling Office in the hallway.
We will update it every Friday, so you should check it carefully from
top to bottom to see if the college or university you are particularly
interested will be on this side or the other side of the Puget Sound.
Representatives
from the colleges DO pay attention to the people who meet with them. It is a terrific opportunity to get your face
and name front and center, prior to submitting your application! These are the people who are likely to read
the application first!
We do have a few
rules about the visits which are only open to juniors and seniors:
1).
Students must sign up on the clipboard in the Counseling Office by
the day before the session to be able to attend the session, unless the
session occurs during your open, study hall or lunch.
2).
Students must notify the teacher before signing up, asking
PERMISSION to be out of class.
3). If
student signs up, we assume s/he is coming.
We ask students to scratch their name off the list if they decide not to
attend.
4).
Students may NOT sign up for someone else.
5).
Students must initial next to their name when they go to the session
(for attendance).
