STUDENTS

1.         Attention Sophomores and Juniors:  It is time to register to take the PSAT or PLAN exam. These tests will be held at BHS on Saturday, Oct. 20th @ 8:00 am.  Sign ups start October 1st and run through October 11th.  Sign up and pay with Sarah Spray in the main office.  Make check payable to BHS for $17 and indicate which exam you will take on your check.  The PSAT is designed for juniors and sophomores who have completed Geometry. The PLAN is designed for sophomores.  If you are a sophomore who has completed Geometry, you can choose to take either the PLAN or the PSAT.  The week of October 8th, counselors will be visiting your English classes to discuss which exam is appropriate for you.  See your counselor if you have questions.

2.         Reminder – PICTURE RE-TAKES are this Thursday, through both lunches, in the commons/cafeteria.  If you need a picture form, there are some in the office.  If you have NOT had your picture taken yet for the yearbook (undergrads) or your ASB/ID card, please do it today!  (ASB — please bring your receipt).

3.         Seniors – All seniors will be excused this Thursday at 10:20 to go to the gym to hear the information about Graduation Cap and Gowns.  Following the brief presentation, seniors will get a group photo taken for the yearbook.

4.         BIKE RIDERS – Please, please wear a helmet when you ride.  It’s the law! and we care about you.

5.         Homecoming tickets will be sold at both lunches until Friday.  The theme this year is Black & White Ball and tickets are $10 each.  Dance is from 8:30pm-Midnight in the Paski gym.  See you there!

6.         Homecoming Dress Up Days this week:  Today = Superhero/Villian Day; Wednesday = Jersey Day; Thursday = Harry Potter Day; Friday = SPIRIT DAY!  First round of voting for your Homecoming Court will occur today during 2nd period.

7.         Calling all singers!  Do you love to sing but have not been able to find a way to fit choir into your schedule?  Well, here’s an opportunity for you.  Jazz Choir auditions will be held this week.  The class meets 0 period every day and fulfills a performing arts credit.  For more information, see Ms. Hill in the choir room.

8.         Are you interested in traveling to Russia this summer?  Camp Siberia takes 18 kids from the high school each summer to work with Russian orphans.  We welcome all sophomores and juniors to come to the informational meeting this Sunday, Oct. 7th at 5:00pm at Grace Church on Day Road.  Thanks for considering this wonderful opportunity!  (non-school sponsored)

9.         SENIORS:  the next Senior Project Advisory meeting is this Wednesday at 11:40.  This is a half-day early dismissal.  Make sure you meet with your advisor.  Due in to your advisor are the following forms:  page 11 Senior Project Contract, page 12 Parent/Guardian Consent, and page 14 Senior Project Proposal.  You may download forms from the BHS web page under the link "Senior Project".

2.         Nantes Exchange meeting for Bainbridge participants:  Please plan to attend a meeting at 3:00pm today.  Items include:  passport acquisition, distribution of a picture and bio of your exchange student, gathering material for the visitor’s packet, and planning welcoming reception.  See Mr. Fritts if you cannot attend.

3.         Chess Club starts today in Dr. Swanson's room, Commodore 513, at 3:00pm.  If you have played before, or if you want to play better, come and join us.  Knights will be sacrificed.

 

SPORTS
1.         Ballroom Dance Club meeting after school today in the new gym foyer.  Today…salsa! 

2.         Open gym, Sundays, 5-6pm.  Come and shoot!
