STUDENTS
1. This Thanksgiving, express your gratitude by
helping others. On Tuesday and
Wednesday, bring warm hats, gloves or mittens, or scarves - of any size and in
good condition - to the Polinsky/Mortlock room. AP English class will deliver these to a shelter in Seattle to
provide warmth to the homeless during the nighttime rescue missions that take
place every winter. Our thanks to you!
2. Community
Service Ho-Ho-Ho Hours! Work with your
friends and the Bainbridge Island Downtown Association – they need Elves!! Would you like to ride the fire truck with
Santa and help light the tree at the Downtown Community Tree Lighting
Celebration? We are looking for 6 elves
to help spread holiday cheer (and pass out candy canes) on Thursday, Nov. 29
from 5-8pm. We have the costumes, if
you have the spirit! We also need 2
elves (you and a friend) to help with Santa photos at American Marine Bank on
Saturdays, Dec. 1, 8 and 15 from 10am-1pm.
Please see the flyer in the office on the bulletin board!
3. One
of our students is missing his class ring.
The name Tommy Vargas is engraved on the inside of the ring. It has a dark blue stone in the center. It is his father’s ring and he would
appreciate it if someone sees it, they would return it to the office. Please everyone, look around!
4. If Mrs. Cooper's students would like an
extra credit for over the long weekend, stop by her classroom today
(Wednesday) and pick up your copy.
5. The
deadline for submission of
Winter One Act plays is December 10.
They should be put in my mailbox or delivered to C511. All students are welcome to submit a play.
6. Congratulations to Emelia Blunt on her
selection to All State Choir. Students
prepared recorded auditions, and Emelia's was selected as one of the top
soprano auditions. The All State Choir
performs at the Washington Music Educators convention in February in
Yakima. Congratulations, Emelia!
7. The BHS Colorguard is holding an
informational meeting about the new BHS Winterguard! Winterguard is
a performance sport that uses Dance, Flag, Rifle, and Saber set to music and
performed indoors. If this sounds like fun to you, come see what it's all
about! The meeting will be held today at 3 p.m. in Room 178, (Band
Room).
