STUDENTS

2.         MATH STUDY LAB:  this week, Tuesday Math Study Lab will only be open until 3:30.  Monday will still be until 4:30 and Thursday until 3:45.

2.         IMPORTANT FOOD SERVICE ANNOUNCEMENT:  beginning today, through winter break…there will be no snack at break or lunch, as we will be short 3 staff people and have no substitutes.  We will have to concentrate on lunch.  Also, students please make sure your accounts are not overdrawn.  We need to have them not ‘in the red’ over break.

3.         THE ROCK – students working on The Rock, please meet in the office at break tomorrow to have your picture taken.

4.         Need a dose of Christmas cheer?  The Choir Holiday concert is this Wednesday in the LGI at 7:00.  Come join in the spirit and enjoy some familiar holiday music and some new tunes, too.  Ho, Ho, Hope to see you there!

6.         The Spartans/BHS Community:  it's time once again for the UBS sponsored 2nd Annual Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Essay/Poetry Contest.  Look for more information at front office or posters around the school.  There will be 3 finalist chosen and prizes awarded at our all school assembly on Friday, 1/18/2008.  The deadline is set for Wed., 12/19.  Remember: Change Begins with YOU!

7          Sign ups for the AMC (American Mathematics Competition) are now upon us.  Deadline to register is TOMORROW.  This is a fun but very challenging multiple choice math test that is offered Wed., Feb. 27 during 2nd period.  Cost is $5 payable to BHS--see Sarah Spray.  If you have any questions, feel free to ask any math teacher.  Just a note--some schools like MIT and CalTech are asking for the AMC score.

 

MEETINGS

1.         NHS meeting today at 3pm will be in the Stadium Grandstands this time…(for yearbook photo).

2.         CLUB DE ESPANOL...reunion el LUNES, el 10 de diciembre, a la 3:00 de la tarde... aula 343.  Vengan!!  Tenemos muchos planes!!  :-)  (15 minutos solamente).

3.         College visits:  Tuesday, 12:00 Noon; Washington State University.
 

SPORTS

1.         Attention all XC runners and anyone else interested in keeping in shape this winter:  we will have easy runs every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday, leaving from the school at 3:15. Meet at the track. ALL TEACHERS AND STUDENTS WELCOME. See you there!!

2.         HOME TODAY:  c-team basketball vs. Seattle Prep, 5:00pm.
